EASY TREATMENT FOR MINOR SKIN BURNS
Have you ever burned your finger or any other part of your hand on a hot pan when you are cooking? You burn it just enough to get a stinging sore spot or perhaps a small blister. If you cook any amount of time, then you will have suffered from a minor burn at least once or twice. Burns and cuts are part of being a chef or cook.
I have the best treatment for these minor burns that will blow your mind.
When I was young, the minute somebody burned their finger or hand, my mother grabbed the butter and rubbed it in butter. This never worked, but she did it every time. I honestly have no idea what butter was supposed to do, but my mother got that remedy from her mother and just carried it on.
Then when I was an older teenager, one of my dad’s co-workers told him to breathe hot breath on it, and that would take the sting and soreness out of it. So then every time one of us got a burn we breathed hot air on it. This increased the pain in the burn for a minute, but once that was gone, the burn was less stinging and less sore. It worked much better than butter.
Then when I was a little older, young adult, another co-worker of my dad’s told him that running hot water as hot as you can stand over the burn for 10 or 15 seconds, would take all of the stinging and soreness out of it. The next I got burned I tried it, and it worked like magic!
When you run the hot water over the burn it hurts like a son of a gun – I mean almost unbearable pain. But if you can bear it for a little bit, it will take the stinging and soreness out of the burn. When you first finish running the water over the burn, it will still sting, but once that stops all of the pain is gone. I’ve had this work even when there was a small blister on the burn.
I use this method every time I get burned. The reason to do this is because usually the stinging and soreness of a burn will last for a week or so depending on how serious the burn is, but this will stop that. Once the stinging and pain from the hot water wears off, you can touch the burn and there is no pain.
You know what I mean, too. You burn your finger and 3 days later, you touch the area and get a stinging sensation. Then you remember, “dang, I burned my finger there a few days ago.” Well, running hot water over it will take that away so that you don’t have that sensation again.
You don’t have anything to lose by trying it. Just remember while the water is running over it, then pain will become intense. I just move the burn out of the water flow and then put it back in there a few times. That way the pain doesn’t become so unbearable. It works just as well.
This method is not meant for third degree burns, very serious second degree burns or sunburn. Do not do this for any of those. It is merely for very MINOR, annoying burns that you get when you are cooking.
